Mixing and Matching Patterns

The key to building a top quality wardrobe is investing in key versatile pieces. Aim for a number of high quality, great fitting garments over a plethora of ill fitting options.

Often over looked and pegged as a mature man's outfit, the mismatched blazer and trouser combo is now a young man's game.

The Navy Glenplaid & Black Trouser Combo

Our fabric #64 is a brighter navy blue with a subtle Glenplaid woven into the Super 100's Wool/Cashmere blend. The colour, texture and pattern create a striking fabric to use as a blazer or sports coat to be paired with trousers. In this case, fabric #4 is a great black fabric in a Super 100's Wool/Cashmere Blend.

This look is best paired with a crisp white French cuffed shirt. Add a simple white pocket square and finish the look with a black belt and well-polished Oxford shoes. Put your best foot forward in Tailored Made Men's Shoes by Mantorii.

Roger's Charcoal & Grey

The well-dressed Mad Man knows how to match and contrast jackets and trousers. Pictured with his ex-wife Jane, we see Roger nail the monotone blazer and trouser combo. Pair a darker charcoal fabric on a lighter grey fabric. We suggest fabric #6, a dark charcoal Super 120's Wool/Cashmere blend as the jacket. Keep the bottom lighter with Fabric #25 a light grey wool fabric with mini-herringbone pattern, perfect to create a visual contrast.

Roger's Navy & Grey

In a Season 7 teaser image, we see Roger pair grey patterned trousers with a double-breasted navy jacket. It is an outfit not for the faint hearted, so we have reversed it and put the heavier pattern on the top. Take fabric #68 our Super 100's 100% wool Grey Prince of Wales fabric with a blue windowpane pattern.

Balance the outfit with a pair of classic navy trousers, fabric #16 will provide a deep blue navy colour perfect to be paired with polished black Monk Strap shoes and a crisp white Oxford shirt.

Brown Tweed & Navy

Smarten up in Tweed with fabric #73, a brown herringbone tweed fabric with a faint orange and red windowpane pattern. This fabric is an eclectic clash of colours and patterns that is iconic of British men's fashion. Opt for a pair of darker navy trousers made from fabric #20 a Super 100's Wool blend. A pair of Mantorii chukka boots will go perfectly with this outfit.
