From the photos and blog post Pitti is seen as a mecca of well-dressed men from all corners of the world flocking there way and “peacocking” to one another and street photographers. As the saying does go “never to judge a book by its cover” Pitti Uomo is more than its exteriors parades, within Pitti is a collection of fashion events that showcases trade shows for retailers, buyers and editors to see the latest collections in high-quality menswear. The markets and trade shows are filled with talents within the world of menswear, giving buyers the convenience and pleasure of details and craftsmanship.
We talk to our wedding stylist Thomasina who recently made her way to Pitti Uomo and what she discovered in the world of Pitti.
The two things I loved most about the tradeshow was 1, of course the style and the sartorial excellence but 2, was the community and people in this great industry. I went to Pitti mainly focusing on the sartorial dressing but I was pleasantly surprised to see showcases from all styles of menswear and from all over the world, from the sneakers to fur coats. It felt very surreal to meet and chat with the gentlemen who I had only seen on my Instagram feed and in articles and speak to them about their style and vision.
The people were definitely the most inspiring part of the festival. I met a team of bloggers, Tatenda Phiri, Sascha Venus, Louis Gebhardt and Tony Maake who took me under their wing and shared with me their experiences. These dandy gentlemen are the reason I'll be going back to Pitti every year (maybe even twice a year- my wallet permitting) and I cannot thank them enough.
