Suiting up for a cause: How InStitchu is supporting World Water Day

Today, 663M people in the world live without clean drinking water. That means 1 in 10 people lack access to clean water. Imagine not being able to turn on the tap and get a drink of water, or not having access to clean sanitation services. For many people in developing nations, this is an everyday occurrence.

Here at InStitchu, the irony is not lost on us. We realize that the fashion industry is both a massive consumer and polluter of fresh water. As we mark World Water Day, we recognized it was time to take steps to help the world water crisis by reflecting on our own impact and finding ways to giveback.

Starting today and running until the end of the year, we're kicking off a collaboration between InStitchu and charity: water. We were blown away by charity: water’s steadfast commitment to providing clean water to those in need. To us, the idea of a “one-and-done” donation wasn’t enough—that’s why teaming up with charity: water made so much sense. Through their donations, they fund larger, long-term initiatives that make a recognizable impact on water safety and sanitation now, and for years to come.

Beginning today and running until April 30, we'll be offering a limited edition charity: water designed lining with water droplets to help commemorate World Water Day and support the cause. The lining will be available for suits in 8 of our best-selling fabrics, and we'll be donating $150 from each suit sale to charity: water. This is the equivalent of supplying 5 people with clean and safe drinking water for a lifetime, with each suit sold. It’s our way to give back, and offer a reminder that the little things we do can add up to make a big impact.

Want to give more? Please and thank you. Up until December 31 2018, if you purchase any Navy Suit in our customer-favorite Fabric #16 (The Tetbury), we'll donate $30 to charity: water, providing clean drinking water to one person for a lifetime.

There will be more on the relationship to come, but for now, we're thrilled to mark World Water Day with the start of a great relationship. We hope you all are as well.
